Noor-e-Kamal — Urdu and Persian for "the light of the lotus" — is a phrase drawn from South Asia's poetic tradition, where the lotus (kamal) represents purity, awakening, and the quiet beauty that emerges from difficult circumstances. The lotus grows in muddy water but blooms above it, untouched. In Sanskrit literature, Buddhist iconography, Hindu devotional imagery, and Sufi poetry, it carries the same meaning: light rising through difficulty.
